A Hotel for Every Budget: Bangkok

democracy monument, bangkok thailand

Bangkok is a popular destination for a broad spectrum of people. From bargain hunting backpackers to high flying businessmen rushing to make a conference, it is a melting pot of international faces. Finding accommodation in the city can be a chore, as the best places to stay are often hidden behind some of the less reputable establishments. Whatever your budget, whether you are looking for a buck-a-day guesthouse or a five star resort, Bangkok has something for you. In terms of hotel accommodation, Bangkok has some of the best and most affordable in the world.

For those hoping to save a few pennies to spend elsewhere in the city, look no further than the three star complex of the First House Hotel. Room rates start at just $17 a night and are part of the reason why this resort is so popular. Situated in the Pratunam area of Bangkok, First House is ideally located for people wanting to get out and explore the city. The nearby skytrain system will cater for all your local needs as you can head to the shopping haven of Siam or the nightlife centre of Silom. It’s an ideal budget destination. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are friendly and on hand to offer advice and help as and when needed.

The Davis Hotel is a little more pricey but it stands firm as one of Bangkok’s most sought after resorts. The price tag plays no small role in this fact. Rooms start at $58 a night which, considering the quality of the establishment itself, is more than reasonable. It’s a four star resort perfectly located in the Sukhumvit area with comfortable, pristinely kept rooms. There are 248 rooms housing flat screen TVs, wifi internet and delightfully relaxing beds. There is a pool, gym and spa and the hotel offers its own tuk tuk service to ferry customers to and from the nearby Phrom Pong skytrain station or to a variety of other close by destinations.

The JW Marriott is at the very forefront of accommodation in Bangkok. It’s ideally located near to the heart of the city in Sukhumvit, and you can reach anywhere in the city with ease from the hotel. It’s one of the best places to stay in Bangkok and rooms have a price tag of $111 a night and upwards. There are 403 rooms and the hotel is a favorite amongst business clientele. The restaurants are second to none and cater to the top end of the market with some of the city’s best chefs cooking up feasts in establishments such as the revered NY Steakhouse (if you are a meat lover then there is probably nowhere better to eat in the whole of Bangkok). There are 403 rooms and each is intricately designed to satisfy even the most discerning of guests.

A stay in Bangkok does not have to cost the world. Visitors are often surprised at the quality of the hotels in relation to the more than reasonable price tags. It’s known as the City of Angels and is one of the most popular destinations in Southeast Asia.
